The site has had a major new section containing old “Legacy Shootouts” that were originally published on the SteveHoffman forum in the course of 2021-2022. As these shootouts were made on the old setup and the selection in compared versions was limited, these old shootouts have rather historical value. They are virtually unchanged compared to their initial published form, except for factual errors that were corrected.

Comparison shootouts are available for the following albums:

The October ’23 update of the Database updates the entry for Revolver:

• More information and photos for the Swiss export version (1st cut) is added.
• Minor corrections to the 2nd cut were made.

This July, there was a small update of the German Cuts & Matrix Database:

• The version 1.62 features another variant of the 1st cut of the White Album, thanks to armin of SHF.

Happy New Year 2023!

As a first minor update in the new year, the database has been updated. In the version 1.61 there are details to the 7th cut of The Beatles (White Album) added, including images.

The German Matrix & Cuts List database has been updated to v.1.6.

New is a section that was missing before: the late 80s releases on the black-silver Parlophone label, after the German Apple and Odeon labels have been phased out as far as Beatles were concerned. Those new Parlophone reissues had, most notably, new catalog numbers and EAN barcodes. It all ended in 1989, when newly created digital remasters have hit the markets, marking the end of the analog age.

Cuts made during that short Parlophone era (ca. 1986-1989) have been added to the Matrix Database.

After a period of testing, the current version 1.5 of the German Matrices Database & Cuts List has been released!

This list supersedes the previous versions as released on Stevehoffman forum, as it corrects them or clarifies them further. Also, it offers additional chronological overviews of Beatles release on different EMI labels as well as an overview of the different styles of matrices used.
